On February 27, 2024, the global broadband industry event—the Broadband Development Congress (BDC), organized by the World Broadband Association (WBBA)—brought together global cloud-network broadband industry partners in Barcelona. As a core AI infrastructure software provider within the international telecommunications industry chain, DataCanvas was invited to attend the event and joined leading enterprises worldwide in exploring technological innovation opportunities for the future.
The 2024 Barcelona Broadband Development Congress, themed “Network Evolution and Telco to Techco Transformation: Delivering Broadband Success”, focused on how network operators can reposition themselves amid the wave of digital and intelligent transformation, identify key development directions, and become pioneers and leaders in technological innovation. The event also highlighted the importance of deepening technological cooperation with equipment suppliers to jointly promote the vigorous growth of the cloud-network broadband industry.
The World Broadband Association (WBBA) was officially established on December 9, 2022, with its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. As a global, industry-led, multilateral, and non-governmental, non-profit organization, WBBA is committed to uniting the global cloud-network broadband value chain, bridging the digital divide, and contributing to the achievement of the United.

Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
WBBA’s initial membership comprised 11 organizations, including China Telecom, Huawei, Nokia, Swisscom, BT, Spark New Zealand, Telkom South Africa, and Omdia, covering operators, equipment manufacturers, international organizations, and research institutions. At present, WBBA has grown to 75 official members across 31 countries, with plans to expand to 150 members in over 50 countries by December 2024.
As an internationally recognized provider of AI infrastructure software, DataCanvas was among the first official WBBA members, leveraging its cutting-edge AI technology innovation, advanced AI software capabilities, and extensive experience in AI applications within the telecommunications sector. The company aims to deliver innovative, open, and sustainable AI momentum for the digital and intelligent transformation of the global cloud-network broadband industry.
“Strengthening technological innovation cooperation” has always been a central focus of WBBA’s development agenda. As one of the most important technological drivers of global industrial advancement, artificial intelligence integrates into and permeates the cloud-network broadband industry ecosystem in rich, diverse, and personalized forms, empowering every facet of its development. As the creator of AIFS—AI Foundation Software—DataCanvas believes that the cloud-network broadband industry will be one of the most significant amplifiers of AI’s value.
The cloud-network broadband industry serves as a vital hub for technological convergence, playing a key role in bridging the digital divide. It is an indispensable component of the digital information infrastructure required for intelligent transformation, especially in the new AI era dominated by large models. DataCanvas’s AIFS brings AI capabilities closer to computing power, working with ecosystem partners to advance intelligent computing centers, provide integrated “computing power + algorithms” services, and strengthen linkages with the cloud-network broadband sector, thereby expanding its future growth potential.
For Chinese enterprises, WBBA is not only an international platform that promotes collaboration across the global industrial chain, but also a window for participating in global technology governance, contributing Chinese insights, and sharing China’s development experience. As a WBBA member, DataCanvas will continue to actively engage in WBBA’s initiatives, seize opportunities to engage with leading global partners, and leverage its AI technological advantages to enhance mutual empowerment with the cloud-network broadband industry—achieving shared success in the digital economy.
