Recently, DataCanvas and China United Network Communications Yunnan Branch (hereinafter referred to as Yunan Unicom) officially signed the “Two Asias” International Intelligent Computing Center Joint Operation Agreement in Kunming, marking the two sides’ commitment to jointly build Yunnan Province’s first petaFLOPS-scale high-performance intelligent computing center and opening a new chapter for inclusive computing power.

WEI Shaohong, Executive Vice President of Yunnan Unicom’s Government & Enterprise Customer Group, and WANG Zhe, General Manager of DataCanvas Intelligent Computing Marketing Center, signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of both parties. The signing was witnessed by TIAN Jun, Deputy General Manager of Yunnan Unicom, and SHANG Mingdong, Co-founder and CTO of DataCanvas. Other attendees included CHEN Yungang, Vice President of Yunnan Unicom’s Government & Enterprise Customer Group; CHEN Jianfeng, Head of the Preparatory Committee of Yunnan Industrial Internet Company (a branch of China Unicom) and his deputy ZHOU Xiang ; MIAO Xu, Chief AI Scientist at DataCanvas; and XIE Qimeng, Sales Director of the Intelligent Computing Marketing Center.

As an important node on the ancient Southern Silk Road, Yunnan’s unique geographical advantages make it a strategic bridge connecting Southeast Asia and South Asia (collectively referred to as “Two Asias”) and a key link in the “Belt and Road” initiative. This strong alliance between DataCanvas and Yunnan Unicom leverages Yunnan’s unique position as an “important gateway, cooperation hub, economic corridor, and pilot zone” to jointly promote the construction and operation of the “Two Asias” International Intelligent Computing Center. Under the agreement, the two sides will provide inclusive intelligent computing services to support the digital transformation of industries such as energy, electricity, metallurgy, chemicals, smart cities, and smart governance. They will accelerate the implementation of large-model application scenarios, continuously improve global-oriented computing service capabilities, and jointly explore new international service paths for AI technology integration and innovation.
At the signing ceremony, TIAN Jun emphasized that the joint construction of the “Two Asias” International Intelligent Computing Center marks a new starting point for inclusive computing power rooted in Yunnan and oriented toward Southeast Asia and South Asia, serving as a model of excellence. The two parties will leverage internationally competitive computing service capabilities as a “first move” in developing new productive forces, champion the banner of “inclusive computing power,” and empower emerging digital industries through AI. The goal is to build a benchmark AI innovation and development pilot zone that serves Yunnan and radiates to the Two Asias, creating an integrated computing-network ecosystem.
SHANG Mingdong highlighted that through close cooperation, inclusive computing power will truly empower thousands of industries, using disruptive technological concepts to foster new industries, new business models, and new drivers of economic growth—becoming a decisive “winning move” in building the future AI infrastructure system.
